Florida State University Welcomes UT Altamira Exchange Students for Summer II 2024

Tallahassee, FL – Florida State University (FSU) has announced via its Facebook page that it is enthusiastically welcoming new students for the Summer II 2024 session. This term, the university will host students from Saudi Arabia, Togo, Colombia, South Korea, Turkey, China, and Russia. Additionally, FSU is excited to welcome the first group of exchange students from its new partner, the Technological University (UT) of Altamira in Mexico.
This achievement has been made possible with the support of the government of the State of Tamaulipas, led by Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya, the Secretary of Education in the State, Lucia Aimé Castillo Pastor, and the rector of UT Altamira, Juan Dionicio Cruz Guerrero. Thanks to this collaboration, four students and two teachers will have the opportunity to participate in the summer course in Tallahassee, United States.
A few days ago, Rector Juan Dionicio Cruz Guerrero announced this international academic mobility program. «Four students and two teachers will stay in Tallahassee from June 10 to July 26 at Florida State University. Students Karen García Peña, Diana Mishel Cuevas Gómez, Ángel Ricardo Gaytán González, and Emiliano Holguín Morales will participate in an intensive English language improvement program for 46 days,» he said.
Similarly to FSU, UT Altamira celebrated this remarkable opportunity on its social media. In their post, they announced: «Today, four students and two professors began their stay in Tallahassee, United States, to start the ‘Intensive Advanced English Course’ and ‘Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)’ programs at the Center for Intensive English Studies (CIES) at Florida State University.»
It should be noted that this exchange not only strengthens the ties between educational institutions in Mexico and the United States but also opens new doors for the academic and cultural development of the participating students and teachers.
